Christmas market at Børglum Abbey

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! And isn’t it wonderful? In the last two weekends in November and the first two weekends in December in 2024, the Family Rottbøll opens their doors to the amazing Christmas Market at Børglum Abbey.

Børglum Kloster welcomes you to the Christmas market for 4 weekends and a single evening in 2024.

You can experience the monastery's private, Christmas-decorated royal hall and living rooms, which are only open to visitors this once a year.

The Christmas market is Børglum Kloster's biggest event, where you can experience a variety of stalls with art, crafts and local food delicacies in the renovated horse stable.

Go exploring in the Christmas shop in the red stable and in the Klosterbutikken, which presents their offer for this year's Christmas gift.

The Christmas atmosphere will be turned up extra with cozy events for everyone.

Well-known scenes from the popular Christmas calendar

Børglum Kloster quickly got famous, when the nationwide Christmas calendar Ludvig og Julemanden was shown on TV2 for the first time in 2011. The Christmas calendar is today one of the most watched Christmas calendars in Danish history.

Santa's workshop and living room from the Christmas calendar can be experienced in full form for the Christmas market, together with props from the series.

Café Vognporten

You can also pay a visit to the café, which during the Christmas weekends serves several delicious dishes with everything that goes with a traditional Christmas table.

You will find Café Vognporten in the old horse stable, where they offer a special Christmas menu.

See the cafe's menu here.

Evening event

Børglum Kloster is open on the evening of Tuesday the 26th of November, where you can experience the monastery's private rooms, the royal hall and the Christmas market after dark.

The evening ends with large Christmas fireworks at 8 p.m.
