Christmas town Tønder

As in previous years, Tønder will once again surprise, seduce, delight young and old, smell of Christmas, and once again show that Tønder is Denmark's leading Christmas town. 

Opens with the bang of a Santa Claus procession 

On Saturday 9 November, the Christmas Town in Tønder opens. It happens with a bang from a Santa procession that leaves from Kvickly Tønder on Plantagevej at 13.00 and up through the pedestrian street to Torvet. With the Esbjerg Post Orchestra in the lead and a lot of Santa Clauses, Santa Clauses and elves, it will once again be a terrific procession. 

The procession goes to the Square. Christmas officially opens here at 2 p.m.

It is also the start of Christmas in Tønder. The shops are open every day from 9 November to 23 December. 

A scent of Christmas - Christmas train, Christmas town and a scent of fir, Christmas and burnt almonds 



Santa's wake: Sunday 24 November - the procession starts at approx. 1.45 pm in Vestergade - approx. 14:00 on the square - Santa receives the keys from the mayor - goodie bags for all children - First come, first served.

Monday - Friday: 10:00 - 17:30

Saturdays: 10:00 - 17:00

Sundays 11:00 - 17:00



Friday 27 December: 10:00 - 17:30

Saturday 28 December: 10:00 - 14:00



Not all stores have the same opening hours.

The Christmas cabins on the square opening hours:

Monday - Friday: 12:00 - 17:00

Saturday: 10:00-17:00

Sunday: 11:00-17:00
