Svendborg - Hvidkilde - Rantzausminde
Bike Tour from Havnepladsen in Svendborg to Hvidkilde Estate and Back via Rantzausminde
Length: 21 km
Start your bike tour at the tourist office on Havnepladsen in Svendborg. From here, you can enjoy the view over Svendborg Harbour, where the maritime life is in full swing with boats coming and going. The tour begins in the heart of Svendborg, and you'll quickly feel the town's cozy atmosphere as you cycle through the cobblestone streets.
Head west out of the town, where you'll soon reach the scenic area around Hvidkilde Estate. This historic manor is surrounded by beautiful forests and fields, and it is here you'll find the newly inaugurated bike path, which has been hailed as Denmark's most beautiful. The bike path, inaugurated on June 7, 2024, stretches over 2.5 kilometers and cost 63 million kroner to build. As you cycle along the path, you'll experience stunning views of the landscape with ancient oak trees, blooming meadows, and abundant wildlife. The path is wide and well-paved, making it a pleasure to ride on for both families and more experienced cyclists.
After enjoying this impressive new bike path, continue south toward Rantzausminde, where you'll cycle along the water. Here, a wonderful view of the South Funen Archipelago opens up, with small islands and islets dotting the horizon. The coastal road offers peaceful surroundings with small harbors and charming summer cottages, where you can take a break and dip your toes in the water if you wish.
After savoring the coastal stretch, you’ll cycle back towards Svendborg town. On the way, you’ll pass through charming residential areas and small forests before returning to your starting point at Havnepladsen. Here, you can end your tour with a well-deserved ice cream from one of the harbor's cafés, while enjoying the view over the water and reflecting on the beautiful bike ride you've just completed.
The tour combines the best of South Funen's nature with both culture and history and is an experience you won't want to miss.
