The lake Thorsøbadet south of Silkeborg
Thorsø near Virklund, close to Silkeborg is a lake with great bathing facilities, surrounded by beautiful woodland. The lake's clear water makes it a particularly popular swimming spot for locals and visitors from near and far.
Thorsøbadet is surrounded by large and beautiful wooded areas with a lovely sandy beach, jetty, seating area with tables and benches and toilet facilities. The toilet is open from 1 May to 30 September. There are no car parks associated with Thorsøbadet.
The lake has a catchment area of 9.5 km2, most of which is forested and uncultivated. This means that the lake does not receive as much nutrients as the lakes in the main Gudenåen river.
